Dermatitis / Atopic Dermatitis

What is the treatment?

Eczema treatment is a long-term plan focused on calming inflammation, fixing the skin barrier, and relieving itch and dryness. Soothing Medical Therapy is key for managing active flares, involving topical creams like steroids or newer non-steroid options, such as topical JAK inhibitors, to quickly reduce redness and itching. Intensive Moisturisation is also fundamental, requiring the regular use of thick lotions and barrier creams to hydrate the skin, stop water loss, and rebuild the skin's protective layer. For severe eczema that doesn't improve with creams, Advanced Systemic Treatments are necessary. This increasingly involves Biologics, which are injectable medications like dupilumab that specifically target the immune signals causing the inflammation and itch cycle, providing major and long-lasting relief.

Who is it for?

This comprehensive treatment is for anyone with dry, itchy, and inflamed skin, which are the main signs of Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema). Mild cases usually need good moisturizing and gentle creams. People with chronic, widespread, and very bothersome eczema, which can cause sleeplessness and frequent infections, are the ones who are primary candidates for advanced systemic therapies and Biologics.
